A password will be required by the adult checking the children out. The reservations are set for a capacity of four infants (those not yet walking) and 16 toddlers, depending on the number of counselors on hand. The nursery counselors use the chat feature in the DCL app to communicate any needs or situations to parents. All of the cruise ships provide youth and teen clubs to keep the kids entertained during the cruise. There’s even a nursery for those wee ones (for an extra fee). Each youth club is tailored to a different age range and includes different entertainment elements.

One of the facilities I was most interested to check out on our Disney Fantasy cruise, was the It’s a Small World Nursery. Not every family resort or cruise offers infant and baby care, but if they do it’s usually pretty good. All in all, I was more than pleasantly surprised with “it’s a small world” nursery and would definitely recommend it. No Shows pay the entire cost of childcare that was reserved. Disney knows how much kids love technology, and Edge is full of it! There are individual computer stations with notebook computers available to play games and access a special onboard social media application designed just for them. With this application, kids can leave each other messages and post photos and videos for their new onboard friends.

You can leave your child in the Nursery and then leave the ship, provided you are sure that you will be back on the ship in time. The Cast Members are more than happy to feed your child with the food provided. No food containing nuts is allowed in the nursery or any of the Kids Clubs.
Parents are also invited to tour the facility, meet the counselors and learn more about the many activities offered. You can pre-register your child for the nursery or the kids aged Oceaneer Club or you can register once on board your ship. Registration begins on Embarkation Day and takes place throughout the cruise.

You can also call from your stateroom as well as checking at the desk (don’t do this your first day though as lines are busy and you have to wait for access to your stateroom when you board. If you have any additional children that are the right age for the Nursery they are charged $8 an hour and $4 per half hour. DCL is one of the very few cruise lines to actually have child care and group babysitting services for children under 3. Sitters will feed or change children in the nursery, according to parental instructions. If you want the sitters to feed or change your child you should provide the appropriate supplies such as diapers and wipes, baby food, or bottles of milk or formula. Plus, having more kids often means A) you’re more relaxed about leaving them in the care of others; and B) you’re in more need of a break!

The splash pad is a huge plus compared to other cruise lines I looked at. It’s great to be able to unpack only once, especially when I end up bringing the entire house for one 8-month-old baby! A Disney cruise with an infant is really the ultimate for a carefree vacation with a little one. Disney offers so much for every age and I found their cruise daycare to be absolutely top-notch. Something else you may want to reserve for your children is an appointment at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique or Pirates League onboard. This is an additional fee but it’s a lot of fun and very special.

If you know that you want to book the Nursery then you should really try and get a booking online. The Kids Clubs on a Disney Cruise are only free for ages 3 and up. The largest area is a play area, and then a second area, which is visible from the main area, has cribs. This makes sense as it is the largest of the Disney Cruise ships. You will notice that the Mary Blair style is applied to Pixar, Marvel and Disney characters to create a nursery that is just going to make you smile.
Since we booked so last minute the only seating that was left was the late seating. I have to give it to Disney though, my travel agent called to tell them that we were cruising with an infant and the seating was immediately changed. I am so glad because I think it would have been a big struggle to try to keep my kids up for the late seating.

It has a great location on Deck 13 inside the Forward Funnel on the Dream and Fantasy. On the Magic and Wonder, it is located on Deck 9, Midship. Kids can challenge each other in friendly competition with basketball, soccer, and a variety of table-top games, including Ping-Pong, air hockey, foosball, and shuffleboard.
